Bookmark Organizer
An app to make bookmarks more useful. Users can upload a bookmarks export file or add bookmarks individually. The app allows sorting, searching, and tagging the bookmarks, and also provides a live preview option and archive search for dead bookmarks. With an account multiple lists of bookmarks can be stored. This was a team project. I handled most of the server-side work and some functionality for the client.
Turkishly
An app for learning some Turkish vocabulary. Mostly an excercise in test-driven development. I handled most of the back end on this duo project.
Fresh Tracks
A simple app for tracking winter sports activity. Solo project. With an account, users can provide information about their winter sports activity (dates, location, vert gained, etc), and view summaries by time period or the individual records.

Hi, I'm Michael. I solve problems.
I'm a fixer, information-gatherer, and a tenacious problem solver, also known as a "smoother over of bumps". Objective and forthright in a creative environment. I enjoy finding pain points in existing systems and fixing them up. I'm a full stack developer but I lean towards back-end work. I love working on a team with people who are better than me at visual design. I'm always willing to chip in if someone is running into a blocker. If I'm not in the office you can find me on the slopes (in winter) or wishing it was winter (the rest of the year).
